Placer County Transportation Planning Agency (PCTPA) is excited to support development of the  Placer Bus Stop Facilities Assessment and Improvement Plan. We are building on recent planning efforts by PCTPA and Roseville Transit, including their  Comprehensive Operational Analyses and Short-Range Transit Plan, to enhance public transit services in Placer County.

This project is a countywide effort to enhance the comfort, safety, and accessibility of over 250 Placer County Transit, Roseville Transit, and former Auburn Transit Loop bus stops. Bus stops are more than just waiting areas; they are the gateway to western Placer County’s transit system. This project will assess current conditions and identify opportunities to create a more consistent, accessible, safe, and comfortable passenger experience.

What the Plan Will Deliver

  • Inventory assessing the current conditions of bus stops in western Placer County
  • Unified design standards for bus stops
  • Prioritized program to upgrade bus stops
  • Cost estimates and funding strategies to support future investments

This project will result in future bus stop designs that are not just functional but also visually aligned with the respective local community’s character. The goal is to create upgrades that feel cohesive and elevate the overall experience of public transit spaces and provide pieces of infrastructure communities are proud of.
