Placer Rides Program
Upcoming RFP/Opportunity for Office Hours
Placer County Transportation Planning Agency (PCTPA) is the administrating agency for the Western Placer Consolidated Transportation Services Agency (WPCTSA). The WPCTSA provides many transportation programs that aim to complement existing transit services and provide coordinated alternative mobility solutions for vulnerable and/or transit-dependent populations within Placer County (i.e., senior, disabled, low income, students, and/or zero-car individuals).
In partnership with Seniors First, the WPCTSA currently operates the Placer Rides program. Placer Rides is a mileage-based reimbursement program offered to individuals that meet certain eligibility requirements and have no other viable transportation options available to address their essential trip needs. More information regarding current Placer Rides program eligibility criteria and functional components can be found in the attached policies document.
In November, PCTPA plans to release a Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit agencies/organizations that would be interested and able to administer the Placer Rides program on the WPCTSA’s behalf over a multi-year contract term. Prior to releasing the RFP, PCTPA is offering in-person office hours with interested parties on either Thursday, October 9th, between 9:00am and 4:00pm, or Tuesday, October 14th, between 8:00am and 12-noon. These office hours are meant to be informal and provide interested parties with an opportunity to ask PCTPA questions about the WPCTSA’s Placer Rides program’s administration and pending RFP process.
